off. Crazy Talk Pro 5 is so entertaining you could
have great difficulty warding off acrophobia.
Staying at home has never been so much fun with all
the new software that seems to be exploding off the
shelves these days. Still, every now and then a
program stands head and shoulders above the rest
and Crazy Talk does just that ....literally!!
Photos and images can be brought to life as Crazy
Talk accomplishes this rather intricate process by
turning it into a fairly simple procedure. Well, it
is simple if you use the standard settings. All you
need to do is import your photograph, (There are
also assorted templates you can use) mark the
mobile parts of the face, i.e. corners of the mouth
and eyes in the wizard and you’re away. Now, that
alone can be pretty amusing but Crazy Talk goes
much further than that.
As well as bringing photographs to life it also gives you the power to turn your drawings into animated characters. Just think of the fun you can have developing your own little cartoon character then bringing him, her or it to life. And who knows, because Crazy Talk is so easy to use it could help you promote your character and even achieve world domination, after all, Mickey Mouse started out in life as just a simple drawing and look how successful he is. Crazy Talk 5.0 won’t give you the finished article but it could certainly open a few doors with the brilliant examples you will be able to produce. The on-line tutorials from the developers, Reallusion are superb, you will learn how to use every aspect of the program from the basic and advanced facial animation to creating scripts, how to use the key editor, the puppeteering panel and much much more. This program can be a whole lot of fun or even a learning curve to a whole new career.
For those who are familiar with previous versions the improvements to Crazy Talk Pro Version 5 are quite impressive. The fitting algorithm has been re-designed enabling any character to have a far more accurate and authentic chit chat. You can now add text bubbles with comic captions and place them in the foreground or background. With your mouse it’s easy to control facial expressions in real time plus the ability to customise eyes and teeth means you can end up with some pretty spooky characters. The time-line has also had a face lift of its own and is far more user friendly.
The advance facial settings mean you have much more control over the movements. The simple facial wizard enables you to customise your characters with character like motions, i.e. humans can have human like movements keyed in and animals will have, well, animal like motions keyed in. It’s all there to experiment with. I can think of some humans right now that a few animal like movements would be far better suited!! But there, you can see the sort of fun you can have.
