World
Book Encyclopedia 2008 by MacKiev is a well
presented application with many interesting
features at a price anyone can afford, however
although I was impressed with this application I
still felt that it is not for everyone, the
internet itself carries many more sources of
reliable information complete with images, video,
etc, if you know where to go. For anyone who is not
a school pupil or student, then I feel there are
better options available.
For families with children though this application is simply a must have. It’s features are pretty impressive, to begin with you automatically are subscribed to 12 months worth of free online updates. Let me outline the manin features you receive :
Every article in the World Book print edition
World Book Dictionary
World Book Notepad Student Word Processor
World Book Atlas with Translucent Globe
World Book Trivia Challenge game
This Day In History Widget
World Book Librarian research widget
World Book Screen Saver
Thousands of photos, illustrations, and video clips

What’s New
Webcam collection The next best thing to being half way across the world is to travel through the magic
of webcams. Software MacKiev has added hundreds of editor-approved webcams to World Book.
Witness the construction of the world's largest ferris wheel in Singapore. Look out for "Nessie" on Loch
Ness in the Scottish Highlands. See the trains roll into Blumberg Station in southern Germany and the
gondoliers navigating the Grand Canal in Venice. The webcams are all kid-safe and updated monthly.

Thousands of new articles and pictures Each year the editors of the World Book's 22-volume print version
update articles and add new ones. Those all are taken word for word into the multimedia edition. For
2008 there are more than 4,000 new and updated articles from genetically modified food to the Iran-Iraq

and more!
Conclusion
MacKiev World Book 2008 is an excellent application containing a Webcam Collection, content for iPods and iPhones, with 1000s of updated and new articles and pictures. This is excellent value for money and ideal for families who owns Apple mac computers, it is also a safer way of viewing the information without the risk of your
family being subjected to the immoral filth that the web seems to churn out so much of these days. Presentation of information and its media is first class and easy to follow, I am sure many families with their children will enrich their lives with knowledge that will lead to their better careers, and partly MacKiev Software is
responsible for that.
