This review although written for the Apple Mac,
works exactly the same for the Windows
platform.
Mahjongg Solitarus From Danlab Games in my opinion is the best mahjongg solitaire game on the mac operating system it features a wide variety of layouts which can be up- dated with an internet connection, it also has a broad range of backgrounds and tile sets. Over the past few years I have used Windows machines to play mahjongg solitaire and could right literally say that I have not been impressed with the vast majority of applications available. but with a mac this particular game is smooth and glides along nicely, again there are other settings of note, for instance you can select easy or standard levels, there is also a hint button, and what is especially helpful is that you can see how many hints there are available as you play. When you first load the game you have game options to select if you so wish, where you can configure game difficulty as we have already stated, you can also choose whether you want to play kiosk style or window mode, although I found the interface a bit small when you select this option.
Other points of note you can select the music volume as well the sound FX volume as well, to adjust for your own perfect experience, you get some pretty authentic original oriental style themes, you also have the option of using iTunes which then means you can use your own selections of background music. Another big feature is that you have the opportunity of making your own layouts with the layouts editor, which is a simple process. Meaning you will not be tired of the existing levels available.
In the final analysis this mac oriented software is exceptional value for money ($17).
And by the way if you happen to be a windows user and you like what you have read, you will be pleased to know that there is a windows version too, either that or do yourselves a real favor and buy a mac.
