FaceFilter
Studio 2 is a standalone piece of software that
allows you to alter facial features in your
photographs so that you can make people look more
attractive or even adjust the expressions to make
them look slimmer or happier. A lot of people get
serious in front of the camera, so this is a great
way to make the smile – after you have taken the
shot.
The 6-stage process is very simple and doesn’t even require access to the help file which is always worth commending.
For those of you interested in the key features, they are:
Skin filtering for smoothening skin wrinkles, smoothening pimples or skin blemishes, deglossing shiny skin to remove excessive brightness, removing heavy shadow, and adding skin tone.
Expression selection: Large template gallery consisting of two sections: Attractive section with 25 templates, and Fun section with 27 templates.
SmartPortrait: This highlights the key features to make your photo look like it was taken in a professional studio. I thought this feature was the best one of the whole product full of good features.
So how do you go about transforming the ordinary into the attractive?
Having selected your image, you the fit a facial mask which normally will fit automatically. If it doesn’t you have easy control of the adjustments. All you have to is to set the facial markers around the eyes, mouth and eyebrows.
Then you have the option of enhancing the skin. This lets you get rid of that annoying gloss when taking flash photos. I liked the instant tan effect although it is just as easy to make it a chemically orange tan if you overdo it.
Then you select an expression. These are split into attractive and fun. Some of the attractive ones made the person look genuinely better looking. Others just didn’t work well at all. Fortunately, you have manual control over the strength of the adjustment.
Then you print and then you export.
So that’s it. The whole process takes around 2 minutes or less depending on the adjustments being automatic or manual.
So if you are in the market to do a facial makeover of your family and friends’ faces, this is a great program to work with. For me, the SmartPortrait feature alone is worth buying this program. Recommended 3/5.
