Your
photo’s may be spread around on your PC or storage
device like a sloppy work truck, so it needs a
little fore-thought and organization! I can
certainly recommend that you stop and look at
ACDSee 10 Photo Manager. In this upgrade release
they really have aimed to keep up with what
the digital age is producing in image creation,
even better than there previous releases.
After loading the program, which was a pretty smooth operation, at first look the programs interface manages to maintain a clean and easy to use user interface, it shows itself to be a thorough organisational program with powerful and great features, from multi keywords to enhancement tools that provide improved tools for red eye, a blemish remover, and a patented technology for highlights and shadows, there are a number of image effects too that are worth exploring. Also the layout of the interface is good with a wide range of tools to hand so you can really file detail of your images, as well as the automatic details such as ISO, size, key wording etc, just so many features, it made me re-think my image filing system myself.
Here is a rundown of the new features in version 10 :
NEW! Mouse over your thumbnails for instant previews.
NEW! Use multi-word keywords like ‘Trip to Mexico’ to make finding images even easier.
Stay organized with smart features that automatically import, rename and categorize your new images when your camera, iPod, camera phone, or other device is connected. Organize images stored on CDs, DVDs, and external hard drives without copying them to your computer with the time-saving PhotoDisc feature.
NEW! Unzip files and start viewing and organizing archived items right away, without leaving ACDSee.
NEW! With ACDSee’s advanced red-eye tool, get natural-looking results with custom eye colors to replace red areas. Bring details back into photos that are too light or dark with ACDSee’s patent-pending Shadow/Highlights technology. It instantly corrects poorly exposed photos without affecting areas of the image that don't require adjustments.
NEW! Apply effects like blur, saturation and color to selected areas of your photos.
NEW! Simplify online photo sharing with integrated uploading to sites like Flickr and Smugmug.
NEW! Post a photo widget on your website or blog, powered by your free ACDSee Sendpix online album.
Design your own stunning slide shows with transition effects and sound - mix audio tracks and synch songs to slides.
NEW! Create PowerPoint presentations from inside ACDSee, including notes, captions and more.
In conclusion the main screen is not cluttered up so no worries of being overwhelmed with a multitude of buttons and links, it has power that at one time, could only be found in power photo editing applications like Adobe Photoshop Elements, Corel Paint Shop Pro, so with the fact of its ease of use and more than enough features to keep the casual user happy but at the same time keeping up with what technology offers, ACDSee offers great value for money and at a price that will not strain your bank account, So don’t knock it before you try it, you will not be disappointed.
