It doesn’t matter whether you are an expert photographer or you possess a point and shoot digital camera, this publication is for you. It is full of useful information from understanding the principles of digital photography right up to considering how to share and print the digital images you have taken. There is a broad scope of information to take in, as well as the fact that there is a great deal of content compared to other publications. However there is one point of note, and that is along the way you will find a Balloon Symbol and a Stop symbol, the Balloon symbol has a box with a helpful tip, and the Stop symbol has a box that describes something that is NOT advisable, this is a very helpful feature if the reader is too grasp the principles of taking a good photograph.

This 596 page publication has many colourful images and diagrams with explanatory subtitles and legends, to assist the reader in his understanding of the subject. It also contains photographs typically taken by the average user and considers what needs to be done to improve its rendering. In conclusion I would say this a fine publication that will prove to be a helpful resource that will apply to any user in the years to come.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 For Photographers by Martin Evening is probably the most detailed guide you ever likely to purchase, to me it is Photoshop’s very own encyclopedia, giving you all the information you ever likely to need as a photographer working with your images.

What I liked about this publication is how he talks you through a specific process as though he was standing and looking over your shoulder, the publication is full of colourful images and is exceptionally well presented. The DVD is provided as a further help guide and contains movie tutorials that covers many of the exercises in the book, giving you a 3d perspective of what to do.

Although I must advise that this book is published for professional image editors, it is advanced so if you are a newcomer to Adobe Photoshop CS3 you may want to look for Scott Kelby’s “Adobe Photoshop CS3 For Digital Photographers”, however their is a lot to learn from Martin Evening so I would buy both these publications so I had the best of both worlds.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 For Photographers by Martin Evening is a treasure trove of information it is the Adobe Photoshop CS3’s bible of information and I would highly recommend a copy if you are a faithful user.

Simply outstanding.

Scott has focused in and really narrowed things down to just exactly which Photoshop tools and techniques we absolutely, positively have to know, and he found that there are just seven major tools, seven major features that we have to master to enhance our images like a pro. But then he took it a step further. Out of those seven major tools, he looked at which parts or sections of those tools do we really need to master, and which parts can we pretty much ignore (in other words, he whittled it down so you're not learning parts of the tools that you're probably never going to need). Then, and perhaps most importantly, he determined exactly when and in which order to apply these seven techniques that make up Scott's amazing "Photoshop Seven Point System."
